EPCOT (01/27/17)

I always have to ask myself if EPCOT or the Magic Kingdom is my favorite park, and it’s such a fine line that it really depends on the day. But dayum, do I love EPCOT.

This was a first for us – EPCOT was hosting its first International Festival of the Arts, and I absolutely had to get down there to see what they had to offer. Also, I will use anything as an excuse to get to Disney World. Enjoy some photos from around the world and of some truly beautiful art, aka my selfies. JK. Sort of.

Drink of champions.

Adorable paintings were placed all over EPCOT that were themed to the area – this was at Alice’s in the UK.

A chalk artist and a painter doin’ their thang – I LOVED seeing so much art, whether it be on display or in creation. I definitely would make this festival a priority in the future.

IS THAT NOT

THE FUNNIEST THING

YOU’VE EVER SEEN

MAKE IT BLUUUUUUUUE

This was the first time that we rode Figmet – and we got trapped on it for nearly an hour. It was pretty much exactly what you’d expect getting trapped on Figment for nearly an hour would be like.

The above are two photos from the Mary Blair exhibit, which was SO beautiful and wonderful and mainly the entire reason I went to Florida for this festival in the first place – but there was a terrible glare from the windows on the art, so I couldn’t get a clear shot of the majority of her work. I’d be happy to make a separate post of all that I did get, if anyone really wants to see it.

But, everything all said and done, the best part of the International Festival of the Arts was being provided the following opportunity:

Yup.

Getting to show up in all those famous paintings made me feel like a super cool, on the fly, future girl Doctor Who companion. And that’s pretty much the sort of way that EPCOT always makes me feel. And that’s alright by me.

Author:

I'm a 33 year old mortician and cosmetologist who is currently battling lymphedema after a gnarly spider bite. I am fat, wear a lot of makeup, live with my mother, brother, and three cats, go to Disney World a lot, and am undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder, depression, OCD, anxiety, and pre menstrual dysphoric disorder. My head may be a mess some days, but my heart (typically) means pretty well.
